How to Load FTA Receiver Files
Loading firmware update files onto your FTA receiver keeps it updated with the latest software--which includes things like updates to the graphical interface and tweaks to work out bugs from the previous versions. By storing firmware updates in the form of .Bin files on a USB JumpDrive, you can load firmware updates directly into your FTA satellite receiver
Instructions

Insert a USB JumpDrive into a USB port on your computer. Open your computer's browser, and then navigate to the support page of your FTA receiver's manufacturer.

Locate a copy of your FTA receiver's firmware update file and download it to your computer. Create a new folder on your desktop and copy the file to it. Use a zip utility to unzip the file (see Resources).

Copy the newly created folder to your USB JumpDrive, and then insert the drive into the USB port on the back of your FTA receiver.

Turn on your television and FTA receiver. Press the menu button on your receiver's remote control. Use the "Channel" buttons on your remote control to navigate down to the "System Information/Settings" option, and then select it.

Navigate down to the "Update USB" option and select it. Browse for the extracted firmware files on the USB JumpDrive, select them and then click "Load" to load the file onto your receiver.
