How to Use a PNY Flash Drive

USB devices, including PNY flash drives, are easy to use and simple to access. The best part is that they are portable and can carry quite a bit of information. USB flash drives are plug-and-play. If there are any problems with your PNY flash drive, the most likely reason is the driver. Instructions 1 To use your PNY flash drive, insert it into the computer's USB jack. If this is the first time that you're inserting the flash drive on your computer, the computer will automatically install the appropriate driver. To verify that your flash drive is identified, navigate to the "Start" menu and select "Computer." A new drive letter identifying your PNY flash drive should display. 2 Add files to and from the flash drive by copying and pasting. Alternatively, you can drag and drop files. 3 When you want to remove your PNY flash drive, click on the small icon with a green arrow on the notification area of the taskbar, located on the right side. A pop-up menu listing your flash drive appears. Select the device to stop it from working. After receiving the notification, "It is now safe to remove your hardware," remove the flash drive from the USB socket. Tips & Warnings Flash drives aren't indestructible but they are pretty tough. Never eject the flash drive from the USB socket without first going through the safe removal process.
